For the April 5, 2017?DC ANS dinner meeting, Dr. Eben Mulder, X-Energy Nuclear Officer, and Harlan Bowers, X-Energy President, will be speaking on the following topic:<\/p>\n

“X-Energy: ?Nuclear Energy, Reimagined<\/strong><\/em>“<\/h2>\n

Abstract<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

X-energy is a new nuclear startup company based in the US and recently won a 5-year\/$40MM DOE grant for development of the Xe-100 High Temperature Gas Reactor. In this talk, an overview of X-energy and the Xe-100 will be presented, including the potential markets\/applications for the Xe-100, and the current status and technical aspects of the Xe-100.<\/p>\n

Harlan Bowers, President<\/span><\/p>\n

As president of X-energy, Harlan defines corporate strategy, implementation and oversees the development of a smaller, safer, next-generation nuclear reactor that expands reliable, zero-emission nuclear energy into entirely new markets.<\/p>\n

Eben Mulder, Chief Nuclear Officer<\/span><\/p>\n

Currently Eben serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Nuclear Officer at X-energy.? His main function is to maintain an architectural framework for the X-energy nuclear program in guiding the design and its implementation. He is also responsible for R&D and the technology roadmap and implementation associated with the development of the program. He participates in the business development process of X-energy together with the main stakeholders.<\/p>\n
